Funny Thanksgiving Story

Abi's Homemade Turkey Dinner
Living in Japan, we have realized quickly that eating turkey is not as common around the world as it is in the United States!

In South Asia, the national pastor heard of the importance of turkey and Thanksgiving Dinner to Americans. In order to care for his American MTW missionary partners, the pastor asked all around the city for a turkey...but to no avail. There simply were no turkeys to be had. Then, he got lucky and found a LIVE turkey! His wife pulled the feathers, cleaned the bird, cooked it, and everybody enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal together. Only afterwards, did the pastor tell the missionaries where he found the turkey. In a pet store!

In Tokyo, Japan, we are thankful for Costco, where the search for a turkey is a bit easier!
