The other day in Japanese class I was learning about senryu, a poetry with the same form as haiku (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables) but a lot less serious and often humorous in nature. My homework was to write one myself, so here it is for everyone to read:
日本語は
きっと簡単
子供なら
(Japanese is SO easy...if you're a child.)
My three sons Aidan, Eastin, and Coen have no trouble whatsoever conversing in Japanese, so why is it so difficult for me!?...
I actually wrote two more that aren't as good:
子の声が
目覚まし時計
ボタンない
(My child's cry may be the alarm clock in the morning, but where is the off button?)
音楽が
なければ駄目だ
生きられない
(A world without music? No way! I couldn't live in it.)
