In the blog entry below entitled "The Folded Sun," I began to introduce how different artists have been using their gifts to raise money for the recovery effort here in Japan. Daisuke
“Dice” Tsutsumi, the Tokyo-born art director of Pixar’s Toy Story 3, is also helping through his organization “Artists Help Japan.” Artists and musicians have donated their time and their artwork
raising over $240,000. “What moved me…was the idea that there is a place for
artists in the response to a crisis like this one,” says Tsutsumi. “Animators,
painters, musicians and other people of talent can come together and make a
difference. I started the organization, but so many people have stepped up and
taken the effort even further.”
You can learn more about their organization at their website.

Children's Project in Disaster Area
Mission to the World is heading up a project for children in the disaster area. You can watch five movie clips about the project and how to help fund by going to their website. Churches around the United States will be showing these videos as part of their Vacation Bible School programs this summer, in hopes of raising funds to use music and the arts to bring healing and restoration back to devastated communities with a focus on their children.
